As part of our efforts to strengthen safety measures and improve the organisation of access to the school, we would like to inform you that, from the start of this academic year, the following procedures will be implemented:
1. Access and traffic control
Mr Edgar will once again be stationed at the school’s main gate, where he will manage traffic flow and direct vehicles to stop where necessary, helping to ensure a safer and more organised entry.
There are also turnstiles at the school entrance, which serve as the second access control point. During these key times of the day, another member of school staff will be present to assist with and supervise entry and exit procedures.
2. Entry for pupils and families
Only pupils are permitted to enter the school.
As an exception, Parents and Guardians of children in the Nursery and Pre-school may enter the school to accompany their children to their respective classrooms.
To help the youngest pupils settle in, parents of pupils in Grade 1 and Year 1 may enter the school until the end of the first term.
Pupils from Grade 2 and Year 2 up to secondary education must enter the school by themselves.
Parents and Guardians who need to access the school to use the canteen will be given a pass by the staff member at the turnstiles. This pass must be validated by the canteen staff member and returned to the same person on leaving, to ensure proper control of access to the school premises.
3. Departure of pupils
At the end of the day, pupils in Grades 1 to 5 and Years 1 to 6 must be collected in person by their parents or guardians at the turnstiles. Ms Ilda will be present to ensure that pupils are handed over in person and in complete safety.
4. Access times
Entry to the school is restricted to the period between 09h30 and 16h30.
Any exceptional circumstances must be communicated in advance to the relevant Homeroom teacher or Head teacher.
We ask for everyone’s cooperation in adhering to these times, in order to ensure the smooth running of the school and the safety of the entire educational community.
5. ID and Access Card
All new pupils and those moving up from Pre-School to Grade 1 or Year 1 will receive an access card.
Use of this card is compulsory; it also serves as the pupil’s ID card. It may also be used to make purchases at the school café and shop, provided it has been topped up in advance.
Pupils must use this card to access the turnstiles.
In the event of loss or misplacement, the administrative services must be informed so that a replacement can be issued, subject to the fee set out in the current price list.
6. Procedures for the Nursery and Pre-school
Nursery and Pre-school pupils must be accompanied by their parents or authorised persons.
Check-in is carried out using the parent or guardian’s QR code, available on the Portal or via the e-Community app:
On arrival in the classroom, pupils must still be registered using the QR code from the Growappy app, as was previously the case.
Nursery and Pre-school pupils may also be accompanied by other individuals duly authorised by their parents or guardians via the Portal or the e-Community app, in accordance with the instructions provided by the school.
