We would like to inform you that, starting April 20th, we will be launching three new Discovery Clubs:

Student Action Group

The Student Action Group is a new Discovery Club launching in the third term. Students will have the opportunity to actively engage in organizing activities while developing key skills such as leadership, organization, and community involvement. This club is open to students from 5th to 12th Grade in the National Curriculum and from Year 5 to Year 12 in the Cambridge Curriculum, encouraging collaboration, initiative, and a positive impact within the school community. The maximum capacity is 25 students.

  • Duration: 1 hour per week
  • Schedule: Tuesdays, from 16h30 to 17h30
  • Cost: No additional cost

The Student Action Group will be led by Ms. Kate Sommerville.

English Explorers Club

The English Explorers Club is a nine-session Discovery Club designed for students from Year 1 to Year 5 (Cambridge Curriculum) and 1st to 5th Grade (National Curriculum). It is created as a fun and meaningful space where children can strengthen their English through play, movement, creativity, and interaction with peers and their surroundings. As the sessions will be conducted mainly in English, students should feel comfortable understanding simple instructions and participating in basic interactions.

  • Duration: 9 sessions (1 hour per week)
  • Schedule: Mondays, from 16h30 to 17h30
  • Cost: No additional cost

The English Explorers Club will be led by Ms. Isidora Cid

Surf Discovery Club

The Surf Discovery Club is a new extracurricular activity for Term 3, developed in partnership with the Waves & Minds surf school. The program will be led by former Portuguese Surf Champion Joana Rocha, alongside a certified and experienced coaching team, combining professional surf instruction with a unique approach focused on personal development and connection with the ocean.

It is designed for students aged between 10 and 17, from both educational curricula. More than just learning how to surf, each session is designed to help students build confidence, resilience, and a positive relationship with challenges, within a safe, structured, and inspiring environment. If sea conditions do not allow for safe surfing, students will take part in a Waves & Minds emotional growth experience on the beach, maintaining the same schedule and supervision.

  • Duration: 8 sessions (2 hours per session)
  • Schedule: Tuesdays, from 17h30 to 19h30
  • Dates: April 21st / April 28th / May 5th / May 12th / May 19th / May 26th / June 2nd / June 9th
  • Location: Ribeira d’Ilhas Beach or Foz do Lizandro Beach
  • Price: Available soon in the EITV Price List

Transport:
The school bus will take students to the beach. Parents/Guardians are responsible for picking up the students at the end of each session.
