Thank you for your continued understanding while the school remained closed for a second day this week in line with the recommendations of the Câmara Municipal de Torres Vedras.
Despite another rainstorm forecast for tomorrow morning, we are currently working on the premise that EITV will reopen on Monday 9th. Unless you receive further communication from us on Sunday, or alternative guidance is issued by the Câmara Municipal de Torres Vedras or Civil Protection, the school will open as normal from 08h00.
As you are aware, damage to roads caused by flooding and landslides continues to impact the area. At this stage, the plan is for all bus services to operate on Monday morning. However, drivers may need to take alternative routes. If they are unable to stop at certain pick-up points, they will communicate via the Bus WhatsApp groups using the usual contact numbers. We kindly ask that you monitor these messages, as the situation may evolve on Monday morning.
If you are aware of any issues along your route, please inform Dona Ilda in advance. Student safety will remain our priority, and this may result in adjusted or longer routes. We appreciate your flexibility regarding pick-up and drop-off times.
Students who have missed assessments should assume these will take place in the next available lesson. IGCSE mock examinations will be reorganised, and students will be updated accordingly. Any curriculum impact resulting from the three days of closure will be addressed during the final week of term. We are confident that most students have accessed learning over the past two days and remain on track.
If you anticipate any attendance issues on Monday, please inform your child’s class teacher directly.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming students back on Monday for a positive week ahead, culminating in our Carnaval celebrations.
We wish you all a safe and restful weekend.
Kind regards,
.
