We are writing to inform you that, from Monday onwards, there will be a new arrangement for afternoon student pick-up at the end of the school day.
As usual, students will continue to be supervised in the playground. However, we will be introducing a check-in point for all parents with Dona Ilda at Reception.
What will change
- Parents of Primary Cambridge and 1st Cycle students are asked to wait at the Reception area.
- Upon arrival, parents must check in with Dona Ilda, who will then contact colleagues to direct students to the pick-up point.
- Pre-School parents will continue to collect their children from the Pre-School area after checking in.
- All other students will be directed to Dona Ilda’s desk, where parents will be waiting.
Reason for this change
Safeguarding is our number one priority at EITV. At present, there is too much circulation of parents within the school and insufficient control of access. This change is the first step in improving our routines to ensure the safety of all children.
Next steps
- This new afternoon pick-up procedure will be trialled until Carnival.
- Following Carnival, we plan to introduce a similar structure for morning drop-off.
- We are planning to install gate barriers at the school entrance, ideally in April.
- Once installed, all sign-in procedures will take place at the main entrance, rather than at the gatehouse.
- From Monday onwards, the gate providing access to the second entrance will be closed at the end of the school day to help secure the school perimeter.
We are confident that you will support us in these efforts to make the school a safer environment for everyone. We will request your feedback after this three-week trial period.
Thank you very much for your cooperation and continued support.
Kind regards,
.
