We appreciate your understanding as the school remained closed for a second day this week, in accordance with the recommendations of the Torres Vedras City Council.
Despite the forecast of heavy rainfall tomorrow morning, we are working under the assumption that EITV will reopen on Monday the 9th. Unless we communicate otherwise on Sunday, or there are new guidelines from the Torres Vedras City Council or Civil Protection, the school will open normally at 8:00 am.
As you are aware, road damage caused by floods and landslides continues to affect the region. At this stage, the plan is for all school transport services to operate on Monday morning. However, it may be necessary to use alternative routes. If it is not possible to make some usual stops, drivers will communicate through the school transport WhatsApp groups, using the usual contact information. Please keep an eye on these messages, as the situation may evolve on Monday morning.
If you are aware of any constraints on your route, please inform Dona Ilda beforehand. The safety of the students will continue to be our priority, and this may involve adjustments or longer routes. We appreciate your flexibility regarding pick-up and drop-off times.
Students who missed assessments should assume that these will take place in the next available class. IGCSE mock exams will be rescheduled and students will be duly informed. Any curriculum impact resulting from the three-day closure will be compensated for in the final week of term. We are confident that most students maintained access to learning over the last two days and remain on schedule.
If you anticipate any attendance difficulties on Monday, please inform your class director or teacher directly.
We are very pleased to be able to welcome the students back on Monday for a positive week, culminating in our Carnival celebrations.
We wish everyone a safe and peaceful weekend.
Best regards,
.
